Betting – Basketball Basics

Betting on basketball is identical to betting on football. Both of the sports use point spread and you can bet on the money line. But basketball is much profitable and easier to bet as compared to that of football. Nowadays you even don’t have to go out to make a bet on your favorite team. You can bet in online casinos.

As there is no draw in basketball games, it is lot easier to predict the result. You have 50% probability to win the bet. You can increase this probability by your knowledge of basketball. You can find a lot of live bet options for basketball betting. We will explain them all below!

The Point Spread
There are two categories in this bet: favorite and underdog. If you opt for underdog, you get free points from the other team to add onto your score at the end of game to determine the winner. If you stake the favorite, you give points to the other team which means you deduct those points from your score at games end to determine the winner. The most common odds on this bet is 11 to 10. This means that if you want to win $100, you are risking $110.

The Money Line
This bet is placed without the point spread. This type of bet refers the selected team has to win the game so that you win the bet. There are difference between the odds on favorite and underdog in money line. If you opt for favorite, expect to pay more to win less. On the other hand, if you take underdog, expect to lay a small to profit more.

This type of bet is nothing to do with winning of the team. This type of bet is on how many points are scored in the game by both the teams. You may select over or under the posted total. The odd on this bet is 11 to 10.

This type of bet is hard to conquer but the payoff are much bigger for a small wager. In parlay wager, you had to bet on a collection of two or more teams and all of them must win or at least tie in order for you to win a bet. One loss and your ticket is in trash.
