You may not realize that not everyone has hair salon success when they go to the beauty salon to get their hair done. People have gotten colored hair that was nothing like the color they picked out, they have gotten haircuts that they thought were horrendous, they have had their locks fried, dried, and left severely damaged.
If you want to have hair salon success when you go to the beauty salon then you need to do your homework first. That means that you need to know what type of hair you have, what style you like the most, and what condition your hair is in.
Going to the beauty salon and expected the person doing your locks to be able to read your mind is unrealistic. You need to be completely honest with your stylist about the products you use on your hair, and the heat damage you subject your hair to. If the stylist does not know the whole story the results could be hair salon disaster.
If you have split ends you need to have them trimmed off before you get any type of heat treatment on your hair. You also need to have the split ends trimmed before you have a permanent wave solution applied to your hair. If you do not have these damaged sections of locks trimmed away you are going to have frizzy locks when the procedure is finished.
If you have used any type of dye on your hair in the last twenty one days you must tell your stylist before they apply any other dye to your hair. Even if the dye you used was a type designed to wash out of your hair you must let the stylist know that it was placed on the hair, and how long ago that has been. The chemical residues that these dyes can leave behind often react with other dyes to create dramatic new color variations that most people hate. If you do not want green, orange, or burned hair, then be honest about the dyes you have applied.
Wash your hair thoroughly with baking soda to remove all old hair care products before you apply any color to your hair. You may not realize that the hair spray, or the gel that you use could cause the dye you are about to use to change colors. You want to start a hair color process with hair that has no hair care products left on it.
If you swim in chlorinated pools frequently then you can expect hair that is bleached platinum blonde to turn a lovely shade of green. The bleach that is used to strip the color from your hair reacts to the chlorine in the pool to create this green effect. Some city waters are chlorinated so heavily that they will cause bleached hair to turn green.
If you have dry hair, or damaged hair, the best thing you can do is treat the problem you have before you try to get a new style, or color.
